According to the PPH, there will be a recount.

14 votes?  This one really needs to be recounted.  Especially with all the extra ballots that were made.  I am with Sean, why does everyone vote for each district?  Why do we have five district seats and two at-large seats if everyone votes for every seat?  Why not just have seven at-large seats?

The real nailbiter is who won the Water District seat? I couldn’t find anything on the City website!!

District 5 voters chose Fitzgerald for the District 5 School Board seat… but the other districts chose Livingston.  Perfect example of why South Portland’s voting system is seriously flawed.  People should only be allowed to vote for their own district, otherwise what’s the point of having districts at all?  I’ve lived in a lot of places and South Portland is the only one that does it this way.

14 votes? Wow!  I hope they count those again to be sure of the outcome!

I would like to congratulate Rosemarie on her election win.  She is a smart and savvy woman, and I am looking forward to working with her in the future.  I would also like to give props to Gary as he continues to show his dedication to the community.  We need more people to have the same level of devotion.

I am honored by the 3000+ who put their faith in me to be their representative, and thankful to those who actively supported me throughout these past few months.  Know that this is only the beginning, and I will continue to do my best to make a positive difference in this community.  Now, on to the next task!

Looking forward,

Chris Kessler
