SoPo Voters Defeat TABOR 2South Portland voters refused to support TABOR 2, or the Maine Tax Relief Initiative, according to unofficial voting results on the statewide referendum. The citywide vote was 7,364-3,872. None of the city’s five districts supported the measure. TABOR 2 would have put limits on government spending, and required voter approval for certain tax increases. The South Portland City Council had opposed passage of the state referendum.
