Winning this motorcycle is nice for the City and the Police Department however, the PD has made an issue about not being able to keep up with the everyday calls for their service because they don’t have enough personnel. Unless these officers attended this event out of the “goodness of their heart” on their own time - I question whether the police Chief was really utilizing his “over burdened” staff in an appropriate fashion. The only other prize at last nights city council meeting was Linda Boudreau’s councilor round robin comments complaining about citizen’s speaking out against poor representation on the council.  She scolded the media for allowing people to post anonymous comments about issues that are important to them.  This council is notorious for not returning phone calls or email.  They have never been swayed to vote in favor of citizens concerns through the normal channels like citizen discussion part 1 or 2 so what other recourse to the good people of SOPO have but to vent their frustrations on comment boards.  This result deserves some anger and pointed discussion even if hurts Linda’s political feelings. Last thing to note.  We who are environmentally conscious appreciate Tom Blake and his example of what an excellent councilor should look like.  I for one am also grateful that he was the only one not to grovel over the results of the Art All Around contest during councilor round robin.
